The Big Dig...
These are photos that were taken by a colleague of mine of the Big Dig project, which was the name given to the tearing down of the elevated Central Artery (I-93 through Boston) and putting it underground. This was the most expensive public works project in U.S. history at a cost of \$14 billion! The building we work in is just barely visible behind the domed building in the 09 and 10 photos (hover the mouse over the photos to see the numbers). I used to walk under the Central Artery every day on my way to work, but now I walk in an open area called the Rose Kennedy Greenway.
